Crew tackles deliberate fire in East Bracklesham

A blaze caused deliberately in East Bracklesham was tackled by firefighters last night, West Sussex Fire and Rescue has confirmed.

A crew from East Wittering were called at 11.01pm after gorse land near the Bracklesham Caravan and Boat Club set alight.

Approximately ten square metres was up in flames when the firefighters arrived at the scene.

The blaze was extinguished using one high pressure hose reel, one fire fighting pack and one fire beater.

The fire service have stated that the fire is believed to be of a deliberate cause because there was more than one seat of fire on the land.

The East Wittering crew was at the scene for just over an hour.

Sussex Police has been informed of the incident.
