Crews called to car fire at A27 Lewes Bypass

Emergency services were called out to a car on fire on the A27 this afternoon.

The fire service confirmed it was called at 1.20pm to attend the incident at the Lewes Bypass.

Firefighters from Lewes, Barcombe and Preston Circus attended the scene.

A spokesman said: “The fire is now out and crews have left the scene.

“The cause of the fire was deemed accidental.

“There were no injuries to report.”
