Crews tackle fire in Lewes property

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a house fire in Lewes this morning (Monday, December 21).

Three appliances from Preston Circus and Lewes and one officer were mobilised to the scene on Fitzjohns Road at 11:26am.

Crews used breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. All residents were accounted for and no injuries were reported.

A fire investigation has taken place and the cause has been confirmed as accidental.
