Crime figures illustrate Adur's safety

ADUR is one of the safest districts in Sussex in which to live and work, according to the latest crime figures released.

Reported burglaries are down 54 per cent compared with 10 years ago, while theft of and from vehicles has fallen from 728 to 496 from 1996, offences of actual bodily harm have also decreased, from 218 to 187, in the same period and grievous bodily harm attacks have fallen from 12 to four.

Adur chief inspector Lawrence Hobbs said: "The fear of crime in Adur is much higher than the reality, as is demonstrated by these figures."
