Alert over increase in burglaries across district

Burglaries across the Horsham district have increase over the past few weeks, according to Horsham Police.

More than 14 incidents were reported between Saturday December 10 and Thursday December 14.

Officers said homes were broken into in Steyning, Pulborough, Rusper, Broadbridge Heath and Horsham. Other properties were also targeted in Ashington, Henfield, West Chiltington and Billigshurst in the same week.

The force has released a warning to residents to make sure their homes are fully secure and to report any suspicious activity to police.

A spokesman said: “Along with home security checks, please also report anything suspicious. You could help other residences by reporting anything suspicious you see particularly information relating to any suspicious vehicles seen, noting down number plates, makes and models of cars.

“Call us on 999 if you or someone else is in immediate danger, or if the crime is happening right now. Otherwise you can contact us on 101 or on our website.”
