Antique guns stolen from East Guldeford at Christmas

Two antique guns were among other items stolen in a house burglary in East Guldeford over the Christmas period.

The house was targeted at some time between 3pm on Christmas Day (Friday, December 25) and 9.15am the following morning (Saturday).

The two early 19th century firearms, which are decommissioned and not capable of firing, date from the Boer War.

One is a blunderbuss-style weapon and the other a musket-style longer barrelled rifle.

An 18ct yellow gold ruby and brilliant cut diamond half eternity ring, £100 in cash and a passport were also stolen along with a pillow case branded with the words ‘K Laundry’.

It is thought that this may have been used to carry the stolen goods from the house.

Anyone with information about the burglary, whether it be witnessing suspicious activity around the area at the time or about the items stolen, is asked to email [email protected] or call 101 quoting serial 258 of 26/12.
