£15000 Rolex watch stolen in Barnham robbery

A Barnham man has been robbed of a £15,000 Rolex watch, according to Sussex Police.

Police said the victim, a 65-year-old local man, was at home in Lake Lane on Saturday (December 3) when he answered the front door bell to two men at around 5pm.

Sussex Police said that one of the suspects immediately grabbed the victim’s wrist and pulled him outside.

There was a brief struggle before the watch strap broke and the offenders made off on foot with his gold Rolex, believed to be worth about £15,000, according to police.

Police have described one of the suspects has been described as black, around 5’10” and of slim build.

He was wearing a balaclava with eye and mouth holes and a dark grey jacket.

The second man has been described as being slightly shorter, stocky and wearing a balaclava, according to Sussex Police.

Detective Constable Ali Hutchings said: “The men were threatening and violent towards the victim causing him minor injuries and stealing his high value watch.

“It is described as a yellow gold day-date with a gold face but no numbers or Roman numerals.”

“We would like to hear from anyone who may have noticed something suspicious on late Saturday afternoon or in the days prior to the robbery.”
