Arrest for GBH after woman '˜stabbed with scissors'

A 63-year-old woman was stabbed with a pair of scissors following a '˜violent altercation' in Crawley, police have said.

Officers were called to an address in Ditchling Hill, Southgate, yesterday morning (Monday April 18).

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Two women, both known to each other, had been involved in a violent altercation.

“It resulted in one of the women being stabbed in the arm with a pair of scissors.”

The woman was treated at Crawley Hospital.

A 42-year-old woman, who also required hospital treatment, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, the spokesman added.

She has been bailed until Thursday, June 3, while enquiries continue.

Detective Sergeant Karrie Bohanna, of Crawley CID, said: “The assault occurred indoors. We’re not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.”
