Burgess Hill food bank’s boost from police

Police have donated £200 to Burgess Hill Community Food Bank to fund selective foods.

Father Kevin O’Brien, vicar of St Johns the Evangelist Church said: “We welcome support for a start up food bank. It’s important to us that it is a community food bank drawing support and volunteers from across the whole community, not just one organisation or type of organisation.”

The donation comes from the Police Property Act Fund (PPAF), made up of monies received by the police from property confiscated by order of the court and then sold.

Police Community Support Officer Anika Clough said: “I am happy to be supporting our local community food bank with the donation and also by being one of the voucher distributors.”
