Burgess Hill woman convicted of driving while four times over the limit

A Burgess Hill woman has been banned from the roads after she was stopped for speeding while almost four times the drink-drive limit.

A police staement says that Marie Mitchell, 45, of West Street, Burgess Hill, was pulled over by a police patrol at Deadman Tree Hill, Barcombe, on 8 June this year.

When she was breathalysed she had 142 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of his breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Mitchell pleaded guilty to drink-driving at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 24 July and was banned from driving for 32 months. She was also ordered to pay £60 court costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

116 people have been charged with drink drive offences during Operation Dragonfly, Sussex Police’s crackdown on drink and drug driving in June.
