Business sponsorship needed for golf classic

Children’’s charity Action Medical Research is asking Sussex businesses to support its annual Peter James Golf Classic at Haywards Heath Golf Club on September 11.

Now in its fifth year, the event is hosted by international best-selling crime author Peter James and raises vital funds to help sick and disabled babies and children.

There are many ways local businesses can support the event and promote their goods or services, without even having to pick up a club – by sponsoring a hole, making a donation or giving a raffle prize. There is also the opportunity for one company to become main sponsor of the whole event.

Sussex-based Peter, whose latest crime thriller Dead Man’s Time was published last month, says: “”Every year the tournament is gaining more support and we have now raised more than £40,000 since I have had the pleasure of adding my name to this wonderful charity event.

“We want 2013 to be another best-seller so please get involved if you can.

““I have a big interest in medicine, often writing about medical themes. It’s wonderful to help make a difference on behalf of Action Medical Research, who fund research to make sure babies and children feel the real benefits of medicine.””

Peter will be entering and playing in his own team and will be available for book signing during the day. Dead Man’s Time is the ninth book in the award-winning Detective Superintendent Roy Grace series, which is set in Brighton.
