Callous thief steals bike from NHS specialist outside St Richard's Hospital

A consultant at St Richard's Hospital's work life has been 'seriously disrupted' after a thief stole their bike from outside the hospital.

Police are searching for the thief who stole the valuable bicycle after cutting the bolt between 8.30am and 5.30pm on Monday (April 20).

The silver 18-gear Felt road cycle with front black fork suspension and black alloys, was parked and secured with padlock and chain in a cycle rack at St Richards Hospital in Spitalfield Lane.

The theft of the cycle, valued at about £400, was reported to police later that evening.

Sergeant Amy McAlees said; “This sneak theft has upset and seriously disrupted the working life of a specialist working in the NHS at this crucial time. We are sure anyone with information will want to do the right thing and contact us.”

Anyone who saw what happened or has any information about what has happened to the cycle is asked to contact Sussex Police online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1579 of 20/04.
