Chichester rural crime: Sheep cut up for meat and pregnant ewe killed in dog attack

In its latest country watch newsletter, Sussex Police has listed a number of recent rural crimes, which have taken place in the Chichester district:

— A motor vehicle was stolen from a farm in Lavant on March 23 (0249).

— Poachers were seen on a farm in the Compton area of Chichester on March 23. Their vehicle was a dark green/blue Land Rover Freelander on an 06 plate (0679).

— A sheep owner in the Fittleworth area of Chichester found the remains of two of his sheep that had been cut up for meat on March 24 (0616)

— On March 25, a sheep owner in the Harting area of Chichester found that two of their sheep had been badly mauled. One was dead and the other was so badly damaged it had to be put down (0280). Read more here— A farm in East Lavington was broken into on March 26. The chains to three fields were cut and three water troughs, costing £600, were stolen (1118).
