Chichester traveller camp issued warning

A group of travellers, who set up camp in a Chichester park, have been asked to leave.

Caravans were pictured at Florence Park on Friday (April 23).

Police officers have attended and engaged with the group. Sussex Police confirmed it was in liaison with the West Sussex County Council traveller team

A West Sussex County Council spokesperson said: “We are aware of a number of caravans that are parked in Florence Park, Chichester.

Police officers have attended and engaged with the group of travellers

"All have been served with a notice requiring them to vacate the land and should they fail to do so, court proceedings will commence. We will continue to monitor the site alongside Sussex Police.”

According to Chichester District Council, the same group of travellers were moved on from Oaklands Park last week.
