Court results - Horsham

The following are results contributed by HM Court Service, of cases sentenced by Sussex Northern magistrates sitting at Horsham and Crawley.

Robert Blegay, 30, of Owlbeech Place, Horsham, was given an eight week jail sentence, suspended for six months, with an £80 victim surcharge. He had pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified at Horsham.

Kurt Greaves, 18, of Langridge Lane, Broadbridge Heath, was banned from driving for a year, with a £140 fine, a £20 victim surcharge, and £85 costs. He had pleaded guilty to driving with illegal levels of a cannabis metabolite in his blood.

Victoria Heal, 40, of Cowfold Road, West Grinstead, was fined £220, with a £22 victim surcharge, £85 costs, and three penalty points added to her licence. She had been convicted under the single justice procedure of speeding.

Ryan Higson, 27, of Letchworth Court, Crawley, was jailed for eight weeks, with an £80 victim surcharge. He had pleaded guilty to theft of electrical goods from Boots in Crawley, theft of groceries from a Co-op in Crawley, and causing criminal damage to a security tag and stealing a laptop from Staples in Horsham.

Charlie Pettitt, 19, of Orchard Dell, West Chiltington, was banned from driving for a year, with a £120 fine, a £20 victim surcharge, and £85 costs. He had pleaded guilty to driving with illegal levels of a cannabis metabolite in his blood.

Richard Murrell, 45, of Windmill Close, Upper Beeding, was jailed for 15 weeks, with 52 month driving ban and an £80 victim surcharge. He had pleaded guilty to drink driving, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance, and failing to answer bail, and admitted breaching a suspended sentence.

Sam Gordon, 24, of Monastery Lane, Storrington, was given a 12 week jail sentence, suspended for a year, with an £80 victim surcharge, and £85 costs. He had pleaded guilty to common assault and to two counts of causing criminal damage, and admitted breaching a conditional discharge, and a suspended sentence. A restraining order was made, barring him from going to two addresses in Storrington.

Daniel Capstick-Bedson, 38, of Climping Road, Crawley, was given a community order with a £60 victim surcharge, £260 costs, and a £180 fine. He had been convicted in his absence of common assault, and of exposing himself to a woman in Horsham. A restraining order was made, barring him from contacting the victim.

Joss Barkess, 45, of South Holmes Road, Horsham, was banned from driving for a year, with a £300 fine, a £20 victim surcharge, and £120 costs. He had pleaded guilty to driving without insurance, and been found guilty of failing to provide a breath alcohol specimen.

William Hungerford, 23, of Frenches Road, Redhill, was fined £180, with £125 costs, and six penalty points added to his licence. He had been found guilty of failing to identify a driver suspected of speeding at Dial Post.
