Court results: This is who was sentenced at Worthing and Crawley magistrates’ courts, July 13 to 16, 2021

Rodney Hoyle, 38, of HMP Lewes, was jailed for 12 weeks and must pay £128 victim surcharge after being found guilty of stealing two bottles of perfume worth £131 from Boots, Chichester, on May 15, 2021. He was jailed for eight weeks to run concurrently after admitting causing £120 damage to a window at The Mainline Rooms, Whyke Road, Chichester, on May 13, 2021. He was jailed for eight weeks to run concurrently after admitting causing £30 damage to a Sussex Police mobile phone at Worthing Custody Centre on May 21, 2021. He also admitted possessing two tablets of diazapam, a class C drug, at Worthing Custody Centre on May 21, 2021, no separate penalty.

Sam Gurr, 32, of The Paddock, Lancing, was fined £1,000 and must pay £100 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting drug-driving (665ug/l benzoylecgonine) in Brighton Road, Shoreham, on October 30, 2020. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Bobby Pryer, 24, of Holwell Drove, Holwell, was fined £461 and must pay £46 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting drink-driving (80mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath) in Marine Parade, Worthing, on June 19, 2021. He was disqualified from driving for 18 months.

Rachel Constable, 36, of Langton Road, Worthing, was fined £120 and must pay £34 victim surcharge after admitting drug-driving (7.0ug/l Delta-9-THC) in Brighton Road, Worthing, on December 20, 2020. She was disqualified from driving for three years.

Angela Langley, 42, of Potters Mead, Littlehampton, was given a community order with five-month curfew, electronically monitored, after admitting causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, a boa snake, by providing inappropriate food, water and husbandry, and taking it to an inappropriate environment, i.e. outside in cold temperatures, on December 31, 2020; and two charges of common assault of an emergency worker, a PCSO and a police officer, in Littlehampton on January 1, 2021. She must pay a total of £200 compensation. She also admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place, High Street, Littlehampton, on December 31, 2020.

Grant Fraser, 32, of St Andrew’s Close, Worthing, was fined £120 and must pay £50 compensation, £85 costs, £34 victim surcharge, after admitting assaulting an emergency worker, a police constable, by beating in Ferring on June 19, 2021.

Ben Campbell, 27, of George V Avenue, Worthing, was given a community order and must carry out 160 hours’ unpaid work after admitting driving dangerously in Bridge Road, Littlehampton, on February 8, 2021; failing to stop after an accident in which damage was caused to another vehicle in Bridge Road, Littlehampton, on February 8, 2021; and failing to report the accident to police. He was disqualified from driving for 18 months and must pay £85 costs, £95 victim surcharge.

Lauren McDonald, 29, of Herington Road, Arundel, was fined £120 and must pay £85 costs, £34 victim surcharge, after admitting drug-driving (7.0ug/l Delta-9-THC) in Jarvis Road, Arundel, on December 20, 2020. She also admitted two further charges of drug-driving (120ug/l cocaine and more than 800ug/l benzoylecgonine) in Jarvis Road, Arundel, on December 20, 2020, no separate penalty. She was disqualified from driving for 18 months.

Robert Morris, 58, of St Catherine’s Road, Littlehampton, was given a community order with rehabilitation activity requirement and alcohol treatment requirement, and must carry out 120 hours’ unpaid work, after admitting drink-driving (90mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath) in Duke Street, Littlehampton, on April 26, 2021. He was disqualified from driving for 23 months and must pay £85 costs, £95 victim surcharge.

Steve Fuller, 65, of Mulberry Hollow, Angmering, was fined £200 and must pay £85 costs, £34 victim surcharge, after admitting drink-driving (91mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath) on the A27 Arundel on June 14, 2021. He was disqualified from driving for 24 months.

Nicholas White, 44, of Hurston Close, Worthing, was fined £1,846 and must pay £85 costs, £185 victim surcharge, after admitting drink-driving (51mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath) on the A24 Findon on June 18, 2021. He was disqualified from driving for 14 months.

Daren Strevett, 54, of Grafton Road, Worthing, was given a community order with alcohol treatment requirement and rehabilitation activity requirement after admitting having a pocket knife with three-inch blade in South Street, Worthing, without good reason on July 21, 2020; and being found guilty of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour with intent, causing harassment, alarm or distress, racially aggravated, in Worthing on July 21, 2020. He was fined £150 after being found guilty of a second charge of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour with intent, causing harassment, alarm or distress, racially aggravated, in Worthing on July 21, 2020. He must pay a total of £200 compensation, £95 victim surcharge, £100 costs. He also admitted failing to surrender to custody at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on July 12, 2021, no separate penalty.

Dave Bull, 30, of Connolly Yard, Jury Lane, Chichester, was fined £120 and must pay £34 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting drink-driving (44mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath) in Fairmile Bottom, Arundel, on January 19, 2021. He was disqualified from driving for 36 months. He also admitted drug-driving (8ug/l Delta-9-THC) and possessing cannabis, a class B drug, in Arundel on January 19, 2021, no separate penalties.
