Crawley Police arrest two on suspicion of attempted murder after man, 36, suffers ‘deep’ neck wound

Two arrests have been made after a man was treated for a ‘deep’ neck wound at Crawley Hospital.

Police said officers were called on Thursday morning February 4 by staff after the injured 36-year-old victim turned up at the hospital. He received treatment.

A spokesman added that police have since arrested two men aged 35 and 39 on suspicion of attempted murder.

The 39-year-old man has been released on bail until March 3 while the man aged 35 has been released on bail until March 7 pending further enquiries, police said.

The spokesman added: “Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which is believed to have taken place between 10pm on Wednesday (February 3) and 9.45am on Thursday (February 4) in Ifield Road, Crawley.

“Anyone with information is urged to report online or call 101 quoting Operation Bookworm.

“Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
