“Officers remain at the site facilitating peaceful and safe protest. Those who break the law will continue to be arrested and we will do all we can to put them in front of a court.”

Yesterday a tripod was erected in the middle of the B2036, blocking the road for five hours. A 29-year-old man, who was occupying the tripod was arrested by officers.

After this incident police enforced a spontaneous Section 14 notice in the area of the drilling site. The notices, under the Public Order Act 1986, can be issued where the senior police officer present believes the direction is necessary to prevent disorder, damage, disruption or intimidation.

Two other people were also arrested.
