Cycling group rocked by the killing of ‘kind and gentle’ Donald

TOUCHING tributes have been paid to a ‘kind and gentle’ pensioner who stabbed to death in Findon last night (July 15).

Mr Lock was part of the Worthing Excelsior Cycling Club and had been a member for about 50 years.

In a statement to the Herald today, a spokesman for the group said: “Don Lock was a kind, gentle, fair man and a good friend. He was a key member of the Worthing Excelsior Cycling Club – indeed, the backbone of the club for many years.

“He was well-respected throughout the cycling fraternity.

“He was a member of Worthing Excelsior Club for about 50 years and served the club well in many different roles.

“Don was an enthusiastic member of the club and although he no longer raced he would always support the club in his many ventures and would offer support guidance and encouragement to all.

“His death will be an irreplaceable loss to the club. Our thoughts are with his family to whom the club will offer our total support at this tragic time.”
