Cyclist suffers two broken elbows in Hove hit-and-run

Sussex Police is appealing for witnesses after a hit-and-run in Hove which left a cyclist with two broken elbows.

The collision involved a 51-year-old cyclist and a Mercedes Sprinter van in Portland Road at 8.49am on Friday (March 22).

The white van is reported to have overtaken the cyclist before immediately turning left into Rutland Road, police said. The driver failed to stop at the scene.

Sussex Police said the manoeuvre caused the victim to fall from his bike, sustaining two broken elbows.

Police have conducted enquiries in the area but have so far been unable to trace the driver of the van.
