The force confirmed today (Friday, July 3), that only two have been reported this week.

But it warned homeowners ahead of the weekend when lockdown restrictions are further eased.

“With more people taking advantage of the nice weather and relaxations in restrictions for going out, please make sure you close and lock all your windows and doors before going out,” said a spokesman.

The Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne is reminding people to keep safe as restaurants and pubs reopen their doors this weekend for the first time in months.

This Saturday will see the hospitality sector open back up after weeks of lockdown.

Ms Bourne is reminding people to be sensible and keep safe by being mindful of social distancing at all times.
