East Sussex Fire & Rescue was called to ZIY & Barbers on London Road at 12.14am this morning. Firefighters from Crowborough and Mayfield attended the incident according to the fire service.

The fire service say crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

A fire investigation took place where the fire service and Sussex Police concluded it was ‘deliberate’.

Police said fire damage was contained within the front door and entrance area. The smoke affected the inside of the premises which was unoccupied at the time according to police.

Police say enquires are being made.
