Dog stolen during Faygate burglary

Police are appealing for information after a dog was stolen during a burglary.

Officers were called to an address in Crawley Road, Faygate, at around 4pm on Sunday August 18 when the victim was in a field near his home.

He looked over to see a man coming out of his front gate with his dog. The victim shouted but the man ran off with another man towards the A264 with the tan coloured lurcher.

The first suspect is described as white, 21 and of average build. He had black hair combed back on top and was wearing a blue body warmer, orange or pink shorts and black and red Nike trainers.

The second suspect was white, between 18 and 20 and slim with short black hair styled forward on top. He was wearing a blue zip-up hoodie, grey tracksuit bottoms and black and blue Nike trainers.

The animal has since been reunited with its owner after being left with a vet.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything in Crawley Road at the time of the incident or who saw the men running off with the dog.
