East Preston man appears in court

AN EAST Preston man has appeared in court in connection with a burglary in the village, police have announced this afternoon (Friday, August 31).

Following information that stolen marine items were being stored at a property in Roundstone Drive a warrant was carried out by officers at 11.45am on Tuesday (28 August).

A number of items were seized from the property, including kayaks, surfboard and a boat trailer as well as a quantity of what police suspected to be drugs, and a man was arrested.

Gareth Jones, 39, of Roundstone Drive, has been charged with handling stolen goods and possession of class B drugs.

He appeared at Chichester Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday) and has been bailed until Wednesday, October 24, when he will stand trial at Chichester Crown Court for the alleged crime.
