Eastbourne man sentenced for lying naked on grave

An Eastbourne man who lay naked on a grave in a cemetery has been sentenced by a court.

Seventy-six-year-old Richard Stofer, of Bourne Street, pleaded guilty in July to two counts of outraging public decency in Ocklynge Cemetery in August last year and April this year.

The court was told Stofer was found naked in the cemetery on August 18 2019 within full view of members of the public.

On Sunday April 12 2020, he was arrested after exposing his genitals and buttocks and lay naked on a grave.

Stofer was given a community order and fined a total of £100.

He was also ordered to pay court costs by magistrates sitting at Hastings.
