Elderly woman targeted for cash at Billingshurst care home

Police are hunting for a man who stole cash from an elderly resident at a Billingshurst care home.

The 81-year old was in her flat at about 12.15pm on Friday March 22 when a man came to the door claiming he was selling household items such as tea towels to raise money for himself.

She gave him from her purse what she thought was a small amount of cash and he left. She then realised that he had taken more than £100 and had left no goods.
