Among the items stolen from the park, near Wisborough Green, was a John Deere Gator utility vehicle, which had only been delivered the day before.

The thieves gained access to the equipment by cutting through padlocks and removing a section of the barn in order to steal the vehicles.

Tim Rollings, owner of Fishers Farm Park, said: “The first I knew of it was when a thoughtful neighbour phoned at 4am to report horses and donkeys in their garden.

“The thieves didn’t even have the courtesy to shut the field gate when they left which alone speaks volumes about the sort of people who commit these crimes causing disruption and misery.”

Police officers attended the scene promptly and conducted a house to house enquiry.
