Hastings police stop vehicle on A21 and arrest two people

Two people have been arrested after a quantity of class A drugs was found in a vehicle being driven on the A21.

On Wednesday morning, Hastings and Rother Prevention officers and Prevention Enforcement officers supported the East Sussex Roads Policing Unit following a vehicle being stopped on the A21 near to Robertsbridge.

A spokesman for Hastings Police said the driver and front seat passenger were detained in handcuffs and later arrested following a quantity of Class A drugs being found inside the vehicle.

They remain in custody awaiting interview before a decision is made regarding their detention, police said.

A spokesman added: "Our efforts to tackle drug harm in Hastings and Rother will continue despite the challenging circumstances we are currently operating in.
