High-value tools taken in a series of thefts in Arun

Thieves have gone on a rampage through parts of the Arun district targeting nine traders’ vehicles in just four days.

The incidents took place in parts of Barnham, Yapton and Walberton, as well as neighbouring Eastergate and Fontwell between Friday, November 23 and Monday, November 26.

A spokeswoman from Sussex Police said a number of high-value tools were taken, including a specialist winch stolen from a tree surgeon’s truck, in Arundel Road, Fontwell, overnight between Thursday, November 22 and the following day, meaning the owner cannot work.
