Horsham man, 72, charged with drink-driving

A 72-year-old Horsham man has been charged with a drink-related driving offence, say Sussex police.

Wilfred Page was arrested in Earles Meadow, Horsham, after police were given information by a member of the public about suspicious driving.

Page, of Earles Meadow, was charged with drink-driving and was released on bail to appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 18 December.

It brings the total number of people charged with drink-related offences since the start of Sussex Police’s drink-driving campaign on December 1 to 11.

Chief inspector Natalie Moloney said: “Anyone who knows that a driver has been drinking can call us and know that we will investigate.

“We will continue to arrest and charge people who get behind the wheel after they have been drinking to try to make Sussex’s roads safer.”
