Horsham man charged after being arrested in suspected stolen car at McDonald’s drive-thru

Two men suspected of burgling a home in Littlehampton have been charged after being arrested in a McDonald’s drive-thru.

Thomas Brown, 33, of West Way in Littlehampton and David Cotton, 38, of Windrum Close in Horsham, were charged with burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.

Sussex Police said officers were called to reports of a burglary in Thorncroft Road on Friday (February 12).

The victim said she returned home to find her vehicle, jewellery and some electrical items were missing.

Officers from the Roads Policing Unit (RPU) located the vehicle at Crossbush McDonald’s at 2.30pm the next day and arrested the occupants – Brown and Cotton.

An address was searched and more property believed to belong to the victim was found.

Brown and Cotton were remanded in custody, to appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court today (February 15).
