Hunt launched for failed Yapton burglar

POLICE have launched a search for a would-be burglar after a failed break-in at a Yapton home.

The incident happened at about 10am, on Wednesday (July 17), when an attempt was made to burgle a house in North End Road.

The would-be intruder failed to get in and left empty-handed.

A man, described as white, in his 30s, of medium to stocky build, with short dark hair, wearing black jogging bottoms, a black sweatshirt and very shiny black boots, was seen nearby at the time and police would like to speak to him.

Detective Constable Claire Daysh said; “This man would have stood out due to his clothing in such hot weather. If you saw this man in Yapton on Wednesday and can help with that or any other information please call us on 101 quoting serial 0841 of 17/7. You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
