Jewellery theft in Polegate

JEWELLERY was stolen from a house in Victoria Close, Polegate, during the late afternoon or early evening of Wednesday May 16.

Detective Constable Matthew Armstrong, from the East Sussex Priority Crime Team, said: “There have been several similar burglaries in the Polegate area in recent weeks which we are actively investigating, and several leads are being followed.

“We would like local residents to let us know about any suspicious activity and to remember to keep their home secure and safe. We can also assist with any crime prevention advice. Just call 101 and ask for your local Crime Prevention Officer.

“The main items stolen are jewellery so we are also asking residents and businesses owners to let us know of they are offered jewellery for sale. Contact us on 101, but you can also call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Police are appealing for anyone who saw suspicious activity at the time in Victoria Close, or recently, to contact them via 101 quoting serial 1766 of 16/5.
