September 7:

George Wickens, 57, of Jevington Road, Hailsham, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall vehicle on Valebridge Road, Burgess Hill, on April 30, while disqualified from driving. 
He also pleaded guilty to driving with no insurance on the same date and to driving in such a position that he could not have had proper control of the vehicle. He was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison, suspended for two years and banned from driving for 48 months. Magistrates said the reason for the sentence was previous convictions for similar offending. He was fined £120 for the insurance offence.

Oliver Warrington, 22, of Pevensey Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to causing damage to a cell intercom, belonging to Sussex Police. The offence took place at Eastbourne Custody Centre on March 30. The court made a community order with a requirement of 90 days of unpaid work and ordered him to pay £1,076.40 in compensation.

Owen Evens, 37, of Bramble Drive, Hailsham, pleaded guilty to driving a Renault Clio on Polegate High Street, on August 15, while twice over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 71 micrograms.The legal limit is 35 micrograms. The court made a community order. 
He was fined £120 and banned from driving for three years.

Kirk Craig, 52, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating. The offence took place at Seaside Road, Eastbourne, on August 19. He was sentenced to 42 days in prison. Magistrates issued a restraining order.

September 10:

Naomi Pelling, 42, of Wroxham Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to stealing meat – worth £81.24 – from Lidl at Eastbourne on October 24 last year. She also pleaded guilty to assault by beating at Eastbourne on the same date. She was fined £207 and ordered to pay £25 in compensation.

September 15:

Andrew Cross, 61, of Moat Cross Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a Renault Megane, on the Avenue, Eastbourne, on July 11, while more than twice over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 91 micrograms. The legal limit is 35 micrograms. He was fined £300 and banned from driving for 23 months.

Andrew Campbell, 26, of Colonnade Gardens, Eastbourne, indicated a plea of guilty to being in breach of a non-molestation order made by Hastings Family Court, by attending an address. The offence took place at Eastbourne on April 1. He was fined £80.

Neil Carter, 35, of Mabel Way, Hailsham, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place at Cooden Drive, Bexhill on July 6. 
He indicated a plea of guilty to assaulting a police officer and to obstructing a police officer at Bexhill on the same date. 
He was fined a total of £160 and ordered to pay £50 in compensation.

Jake Riley, 32, of no fixed address, indicated a plea of guilty to being in possession of cannabis. The offence took place at Eastbourne on July 17. He was fined £40.
