March 18:

Nigel May, 53, of Bourne Street, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a BMW vehicle on Pelham Place, Hastings, on June 11, last year, with no insurance. He was fined £120 and his driving record endorsed with six penalty points.

Ionut Cioroba, 22, of Trinity Trees, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle on Cophall Roundabout, at Polegate, on January 17, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 64 micrograms. The legal limit is 35 micrograms. He also pleaded guilty to driving with no licence or insurance at Polegate on the same date. He was fined £350 and banned from driving for 18 months.

Harry Smith, 21, of Sydney Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a motorcycle on London Road, Hastings, on July 18, last year, with the controlled drug benzoylecgonine in his blood stream. He pleaded guilty to driving with no licence at Hastings on the same date. He was fined £300 and banned from driving for one year.

Nicholas Gill, 33, of Winchelsea Road, Rye, pleaded guilty to driving a Suzuki vehicle on Brampton Road, Eastbourne, on April 3, last year, with cannabis in his bloodstream. He also pleaded guilty to driving on Combe Valley Way, Bexhill, on August 5, with cannabis in his blood stream. He was fined £120 and banned from driving for one year.

Paul Blackman, 38, of Rosevere Road, Eastbourne, indicated a plea of guilty to being in charge of an American bulldog, which was dangerously out of control in a property at Eastbourne and injured two police officers. The court made an order that unless the dog is kept under control, muzzled and on a lead at all times, it should be destroyed. They made conditions that the dog should not be under the control of a person aged under 16, or over 65 and that the dog is secured within the house before an external door is opened.

They ordered that the dog should not be walked or exercised near any school or educational premises and that the rear garden needs to have secure fencing of no less than six feet high. The court made a community order and ordered him to pay £150 in compensation.

Christopher Bennett, 33, of St Philips Avenue, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Zafira vehicle on Willoughby Crescent, Eastbourne, on October 15, last year, while disqualified from driving. He pleaded guilty to driving on Willoughby Crescent, while over the drink drive limit and with no insurance, on the same date. 
He gave a breath alcohol reading of 68 micrograms. The legal limit is 35 micrograms. He pleaded guilty to damaging glass, belonging to Stredder Pearce, at Westdown House, Eastbourne, on March 18. He was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison, suspended for one year. 
The court made a community order with an alcohol treatment requirement and imposed a 12-week electronically monitored curfew between 8pm and 7am. He was banned from driving for four years and ordered to pay £100 in compensation.

Phillip Harding, 36, of Green Park Corner, Wivelsfield, Haywards Heath, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis when required to do so by police under the Road Traffic Act 1988. 
The offence took place at Eastbourne, on March 14, last year. 
He also pleaded guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis at Eastbourne on the same date. The court made a community order with a requirement of 240 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for 28 months.
