January 13:

Stuart Black, 29, of Lower Rock Gardens, Brighton, pleaded guilty to causing £666 damage to a microwave, wardrobe, bed and fixtures. The offence took place at Jevington Gardens, Eastbourne, on June 13. He was fined £120 and detained in the courthouse for a period.

Mark Pollard, 44, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to causing £100 damage to two arcade machines, belonging to Sheik Gulzar. 
The offence took place at Eastbourne on April 24. He also pleaded guilty to stealing £6 - £7 in coins from an arcade machine at Eastbourne on the same date. He was given a one-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £106 in compensation.

A 16-year-old Eastbourne youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle on Whitley Road, Eastbourne, on August 15, with no licence or insurance. He was fined £200 and his driving record endorsed with six penalty points.

A 16-year-old Eastbourne youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis. 
The offence took place at Stone Cross on December 28. He was given a six month conditional discharge.

January 15:

Ashley Butler, 18, of St Mary’s Avenue, Hailsham, pleaded guilty to causing damage to a police car. 
The offence took place at Hailsham on August 14. He also pleaded guilty to causing £228 damage to a vehicle at Butts Brow car park, Willingdon on August 24 and to being in possession of a quantity of cocaine at Eastbourne on the same date. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £228 in compensation.

John Damulia, 49, of Mill Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a BMW on Jevington Gardens, Eastbourne, on December 12, while disqualified from driving. He also pleaded guilty to driving with no insurance and to being in possession of a Stanley knife on the same date. 
He was sentenced to eight weeks in prison, suspended for two years. The court made a community order and banned him from driving for 14 months.

Benjamin Hastings, 22, of Ladywood Road, Dartford, Kent, pleaded guilty to driving a Peugeot van on Wallsend Road, Pevensey, on December 15, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 63 micrograms. The legal limit is 35 micrograms. He was fined £120 and banned from driving for 17 months.

George Walter, 25, of Sutton Park Road, Seaford, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating her. 
The offence took place at Eastbourne on June 30. He was fined £40.

James Walsh, 63, of Beechy Gardens, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating her. 
The offence took place at Eastbourne, on September 22. He was fined £220. Magistrates issued a restraining order.

David Clarke, 53, of Glynde Avenue, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to assault by beating and to using threatening behaviour. 
The offences took place at Eastbourne railway station on August 8. He was given an 18 month conditional discharge and magistrates ordered him to pay £100 in compensation.

Timothy Cook 24, of Southfields Road, Eastbourne, indicated a plea of guilty to driving a vehicle dangerously on Combe Valley Way, Bexhill, on November 24. He also indicated a plea of guilty to failing to stop for a police officer on the same date. 
The court made a community order with a requirement of 200 hours of unpaid work and magistrates banned him from driving for 23 months.
