August 26:

Martin Standing, 27, of manor Hall Road, Southwick, Brighton, pleaded guilty to driving a Citroen vehicle at Beauport Caravan Park on January 9, last year, with Ketamine in his blood stream. He was fined £140 and banned from driving for one year.

Kevin Dine, 39, of Sovereign Close, Hastings, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford vehicle on St Helens Crescent, Hastings, on February 6, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a blood alcohol reading of 102 milligrammes. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes. He was fined £363 and banned from driving for one year.

Donna Lawrence, 38, of St Georges Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Ka on St Georges Road, on June 27, while three times over the drink drive limit. She gave a breath alcohol reading of 108 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. She was fined £320 and banned from driving for 23 months.

John Crittenden, 50, of High Street, Hastings, indicated a plea of guilty to pursuing a course of conduct which amounted to the stalking of a woman, by repeatedly calling and texting her, following her in his vehicle and turning up uninvited at her mother’s address. The offence took place at Hastings between November 1, last year and June 17 this year. He was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months. Magistrates said the reason for the sentence was due to threats to the victim and her family. The court made a community order and issued a restraining order.

Brendan Baker, 27, of Rotherfield Avenue, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle on Merriments Lane, Hurst Green, on February 4, with cannabis in his blood stream. He was fined £161 and banned from driving for 18 months.

Richie Welch, 24, of Croft Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to driving an Audi vehicle on Castle Street, Hastings, on June 28, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 62 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. He was fined £69 and banned from driving for 20 months.

Scott Richardson, 33, of Pinders Road, Hastings, indicated a plea of guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis at Castledown Avenue, Hastings, on October 8, last year. He was fined £80.

Christopher Sherwood, 33, of no fixed address, indicated guilty pleas to being in possession of quantities of cocaine, crack cocaine and methylamphetamine, at Sea Road, Bexhill, on June 26. He also indicated a plea of guilty to assaulting a police officer at the Eastbourne Custody Centre, on July 11. He admitted being in breach of a supervision requirement imposed following release from a period of imprisonment. He was sentenced to a total of 14 weeks in prison.

Donna Smyth, 29, of Havelock Road, Hastings, indicated a plea of guilty to a charge that she dishonestly undertook, or assisted in, the retention, disposal or realisation of two stolen rings, worth £550. The offence took place at Hastings on April 6. She was given an 18 month conditional discharge.

Kefayet Hussein, 41, of Merrimede Close, St Leonards, indicated guilty pleas to being in possession of 22 wraps of crack cocaine and three wraps of heroin. The offences took place at St Leonards on May 16. He was fined £120.

Louis De Dherburne-Swann, 62, of Conduit Hill, Rye, was found guilty of failing to provide information to police relating to the identity of the driver of a Renault Espace vehicle, who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence at Maidstone, on August 5, 2016. He was fined £660 and ordered to pay £620 in prosecution costs. His driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.

September 8:

Gary Nightingale, 32, of The Maltings, Peasmarsh, pleaded guilty to driving a Citroen vehicle on Barnets Hill, Rye, on March 12, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a blood alcohol reading of 142 milligrammes. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes. He was fined £330 and banned from driving for 18 months.

Oliver Warrington, 22, of Pevensey Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Corsa on Harley Shute Road, St Leonards, on October 31, last year with the controlled drug Benzoylecgonine in his blood stream. He also indicated a plea of guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis at St Leonards on the same date. The court made a community order with a requirement of 90 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for two years.

Paul Scrivener, 40, of Stonefield Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating her. The offence took place at St Leonards, on April 26. He was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison, suspended for two years. Magistrates said the reason for the sentence was that it involved ‘a calculated decision to smother someone with a pillow to the extent that they thought they would die, and the trauma caused to the victim’. The court made a community order and issued a restraining order.

Jan Toder, 19, of Eversfield Place, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of blood for analysis when required to do so by police under the Road Traffic Act 1988. The offence took place at Hastings on April 19. He pleaded guilty to using a motor vehicle with no insurance or licence at Hastings, on the same date and to being in possession of cannabis. The court made a community order with 80 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for 17 months. He was fined £500.
