Magistrates Court results for the Hastings and Rother area

June 14:

A 17-year-old Bexhill youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to being in possession of a machete and a loaded air pistol in a public place, at Asda supermarket, St Leonards, on April 21. He was referred to the East Sussex Youth Offender Panel for a one year contract.

Adrian Cooper, 40, of Holly Place, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a Nissan vehicle on Sidney Little Road, Hastings, on April 7, with cocaine in his blood stream. He also pleaded guilty to driving with cannabis and the controlled drug Benzoylecgonine in his blood stream at Hastings on the same date. He was fined £250 and banned from driving for one year.

June 15:

Steven Dyer, 40, of Addington Close, St Leonards, was found guilty of driving a Ford vehicle on Bexhill Road, St Leonards, on September 7, last year, while more than twice over the drink drive limit. He gave a blood alcohol reading of 216 milligrammes. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes. He pleaded guilty to damaging a police custody cell, at St Leonards, on the same date, by intentionally urinating on the door and flushing a safety suit down a toilet, resulting in water having to be turned off and a £300 specialist cleaning bill. Sentencing was adjourned until August 4, for reports to be prepared and he was released on unconditional bail. Magistrates made an intermediate driving ban.

June 16:

Phillip Attenborough, 43, of Nursery Close, Flimwell, pleaded guilty to driving a Hyundai vehicle on London Road, Hurst Green, on November 10, last year, while more than twice over the drink drive limit. He gave a blood alcohol reading of 220 milligrammes. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes. The court made a community order with a requirement of 80 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for three years.

Attila Budavari, 27, of St Helens Court, Hastings, indicated a plea of guilty to making 477 Category C still and moving indecent images of children. He also indicated guilty pleas to making 56 Category B and 59 Category A indecent images of children. The offences took place at St Leonards between June 15 2019 and June 10 2020. He was committed to Lewes Crown Court for sentencing on July 14 and released on unconditional bail.

Tobias Plunkett, 24, of Frythe Way, Cranbrook, Kent, indicated a plea of guilty to racially/religiously aggravated assault. The offence took place at Hastings on March 25. Sentencing was adjourned until August 18 for reports to be prepared. He was released on conditional bail.

Jamal Hassan, 20, of Larch Crescent, Hayes, Middlesex, indicated a plea of guilty to being in possession of a small bag of cannabis at Hastings on May 8. He was given a one year conditional discharge.

Lewis Stacey, 28, of James Street, Sheerness, Kent, pleaded guilty to stealing a baseball bat at Marline Road, St Leonards, on March 23. He also pleaded guilty to stealing groceries from One Stop in Blackman Avenue, St Leonards, on the same date. The court made a community order with a drug rehabilitation requirement.

Jason King, 29, of Duke Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to trespassing on land at Ludley Farm, Peasmarsh, on August 28, last year, in pursuit of game. He was fined £80.

June 23:

Thomas Payne, 73, of Quebec Close, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to two charges of assaulting a woman by beating. The offences took place at Bexhill on March 15. He was fined £500. Magistrates issued a restraining order.

Kerry McNicoll, 29, of Wellington Place, Hastings, pleaded guilty to using racially aggravated threatening behaviour. The offence took place at Hastings on October 13, last year. She was fined £200.
