Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked in Hastings.

A police spokesman said: “Officers received a report of a man being hit with a cricket bat during an altercation in Bohemia Road at 2.30pm on Tuesday (October 13).”

A 35-year-old man suffered an injury which required hospital treatment.

A 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and has been bailed while enquiries are ongoing, said police.
