Man charged after fleeing scene of collision in Eastbourne

Police responded to a car crashing into a parked vehicle in Bolton Road at 9.50pm on October 15.

The driver had made off from the scene and exited his vehicle, said Sussex Police.

The suspect was located nearby in the Post Office car park.

A police spokesman said: “Ashley Kemp, 31, of Biddenden Close in Eastbourne was arrested and charged with failing to stop following a collision, driving without due care and attention, driving otherwise in accordance with a licence and failing to provide a breath specimen.

“He has been bailed to appear at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on January 20.
