Man found in Tilgate Park stream with broken leg and fractured eye sockets

An injured man was found in a stream in Tilgate Park with a broken leg and fractures to both eye sockets after an assault.

Police

Police said the 43-year-old was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition following the attack in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday December 8).

Officers were carrying out a routine patrol in the car park when a silver car was seen speeding away just after 1.30am.

Following a search of the area, the man was discovered with multiple injuries including to his leg and eyes.

Detective inspector Antony Leadbeatter said: “We would like to speak to anyone with information, particularly four cyclists who were seen in the area.”
