As the pair approached a set of traffic lights outside the Millets store police said the Honda driver got out and punched the campervan driver, who was still seated, several times. Both vehicles then drove off.

The incident took place at about 4.15pm.

The Honda driver is described as white, 6’, thin and his 30’s, and was wearing shorts.

PC Richard Wooding of Crawley Investigations said; “Witnesses reported bring shocked and concerned by this behaviour. So far neither driver has reported the incident and we particularly need to contact the man in the van to see how seriously he was hurt.

“We are asking both drivers, and anyone else who saw what happened, to contact us via email [email protected] quoting serial 696 of 16/03.
