Man set to appear in Brighton court charged with 'threatening behaviour'

Sussex Police said a man charged with alleged threatening behaviour in a public place was set to appear in a Brighton court today (April 10).

A man arrested on the M25 on Monday (April 8) was 'wanted in relation to a robbery and an attempt robbery in Brighton', a Surrey Police spokesperson said.

Police said the arrest was in connection with alleged incidents in Bartholomew Square, Brighton and on the lower promenade by the pier on the evening of Wednesday, April 3.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said: "Armando Tana, 24, a barber, of Albert Gardens, Luton, has been charged with two counts of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence; threatening a person with a blade or sharply pointed article in a public place; racially or religiously aggravated fear or provocation of violence by words or writing; driving whilst disqualified; using a motor vehicle on a road or public place without third party insurance and possession of a controlled drug of Class B - cannabis.

"He was remanded in custody to appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (April 10)."
