Man stabbed in Arundel street attack

POLICE arrested a man after an assault in an Arundel street in which a man received a stab wound to his arm.

Officers were called to Canada Road just after 6pm yesterday (Wednesday, March 28) after a report that a man had been stabbed in the street.

The 38-year-old man, from Arundel, was taken to St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester for treatment to a deep cut to his right forearm. A 26-year-old man, also from Arundel, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and is in custody for interview and further enquiries.

Police seized a kitchen knife believed to have been used in the assault.

A Sussex Police spokesman said; “Enquiries are being made to establish exactly what happened, but this is not believed to be a stranger attack.”
