Man suffers facial injuries after assault in Barnham

Witnesses are being sought after a man was assaulted in Barnham.

Sussex Police said the victim, a 49-year-old local man, sustained facial injuries after the incident near the junction of Lake Lane and Yapton Road around 10.30am last Saturday (July 4).

A spokesperson said: “Following enquiries, police arrested a 53-year-old from Watford on suspicion of assault. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

“Anyone who saw what happened or has any information about the incident is asked to report it online or call 101, quoting serial 454 of 04/07.

“You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or report it online.”
