Man threatens to shoot Horsham shopper

A MAN threatened to shoot a Horsham shopper as she returned to her car at Sainsbury’s car park at 5.25pm on Saturday November 26.

The victim, described to be a local woman in her 50s, was approached by the man who demanded she hand over her car keys, and said he would shoot her otherwise.

Two men passing by ran towards her to see what was happening and at the same time she managed to get into her car and drove off a short distance.

As this was happening the suspect fled the scene.

No firearm or other weapon was seen and he did not physically assault her.

The assailant is described as white, aged in his late teens to early twenties, 5’10”, of skinny build, with short mousey hair, clean shaven, and local accent, wearing a dark short bomber style jacket, light coloured top and dark coloured jeans.

A second suspect was seen nearby, described as white, in his twenties, 5’5”, with an eyebrow piercing. He also ran away.

PC Adrian Hunt said; “This incident left the woman upset and visibly shaking but her quick thinking and that of the two men passing by, prevented this escalating into something more serious.
