Man ‘throws glass at moving car’ near Newhaven pub, injuring 18-year-old

A man allegedly threw a glass at a moving car near a pub in Newhaven – injuring a passenger.

The incident is said to have taken place near The Hope Inn on Wednesday (August 12).

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “About 10.34pm on Wednesday, August 12, police received a report of an incident in West Pier, Newhaven.

“A man is reported to have thrown a glass at a moving car, which smashed a window, causing a minor head injury to the passenger – an 18-year-old woman. She was given safeguarding advice.”

Enquiries are ongoing, the spokesman added, and anyone who has any information about the alleged incident is asked to report it to Sussex Police online or call 101, quoting serial 1759 of 13/08.
