‘Meals on wheels’ van from Mother Theresa’s Meals is stolen in Uckfield

Police are currently searching for a missing ‘meals on wheels’ van which was stolen while delivering in the Uckfield area yesterday.

The van is white, has ‘Mother Theresa’ written on the side and the number plate is MT10YUM, said police.

A spokesman on Twitter said it was stolen at around 2pm on Wednesday (May 12).

“Please dial 999 if you see it - thank you,” police said.

Based in Hailsham, Mother Theresa’s meals delivers freshly cooked hot or chilled meals direct to people’s homes across East Sussex, Mid Sussex, Brighton and Hove and Adur and Worthing.

A spokesman said in a post on Facebook: “We are very upset that this pm someone has stolen one of our vans while we are carrying out our meal delivery service...

“Police are aware.

“These vans are the life blood of our service and have oven conversion especially for our meal service.

“We carry no money or valuables just meals.”
