Do you recognise this nautical compass?

Police in Sussex believe it could have been stolen in a recent burglary somewhere in the county.

The solid brass ‘Nauticalia’ compass, showing the unique serial number 012021, was found in a car which was stopped by officers in Fort Road, Newhaven, on February 19.

Detective Constable Oliver Summers, of the West Sussex Priority Crime Team, said; “We’ve traced the manufacturers and they say they have sold only about 45 of the compasses across the South of England.

“If you recognise it please contact us via 101@sussex.pnn.police.ukor by calling 101, in either case quoting serial 691 of 19/2.”

Two men were arrested in the car and have been charged with a house burglary in Kingston, near Lewes, earlier the same day.
