Patrols in Lewes after a number of car windows smashed

Police are making enquiries after a number of car windows were smashed in the Lewes town centre area yesterday.

PCSOs are patrolling the area and are asking anyone with information to get in touch.

Incidents of damage were reported in Southover Road and Court Road among others.

A Lewes Police spokesman said in a statement on social media: “We have been made aware of a number of vehicles being damaged, namely windows being smashed in the Lewes town centre area including Southover Road and Court Road in the small hours of Monday the 22nd March.

“PCSO’s are patrolling the area and making enquiries into any lines of enquiry, if you saw or heard anything in the small hours of the 22nd March that may help, or you live in the area and have CCTV / ringdoor bells that may show these offences, please let us know by reporting online or calling 101.”
